Welcome to Sci-Tech Paranormal.

Based in the Atlanta, Georgia area, Sci-Tech Paranormal is a knowledgable, diverse and connected group of paranormal investigators that conducts research for the purposes of helping people understand abnormal events happening in their surroundings. We also aim to bring credibility to the research and further human understanding of the paranormal. Our methods and skeptical approach give us an objective point of view which can be reassuring to those who are not sure if whether the experiences they are dealing with are paranormal.

Feel free to browse our site. Feel free to contact us with any questions. Feel free to keep an open mind and accept that we, as a species, do not yet understand all of the mysteries of the universe. Without bias or blind skepticism, we seek to further human understanding of events that have few explanations.

What is Sci-Tech Paranormal?

We are a group of researchers who specialize in scientific based investigations of paranormal events. We use technology, backed with extensive knowledge of natural occurrences, to study and investigate claims of paranormal activity.

Does that mean you are skeptics?

Not necessarily. While we think that no one fully understands paranormal activity, we do acknowledge the existence of events that are unexplained. Each of our members has his or her beliefs so an inclusive statement would be inaccurate. A healthy dose of skepticism helps to keep emotions and beliefs from running rampant. However, even our most skeptical member does not close his mind to the possibilities.

Do you really think that a scientific approach is feasible in paranormal research considering that it is primarily a "spiritual" event?

Since there are so many theories out there, we feel it is extremely important to rule out all possible natural causes for a paranormal event. How can you be sure if the shadow you are seeing isn't just an animal if you haven't ensured that all animals are cleared from the location? How can you be sure the voice your recorder picked up isn't just a radio you didn't ensure was turned off? Far too many groups conduct investigations without properly identifying all the variables and possible natural causes for events or phenomena. That leaves any evidence they gather suspect and fully open to skeptical discredit. Believers do not require logic or science to convince them. Skeptics require both. There does not have to be a conflict between spiritual events and scientific research. Elbert Hubbard, an American writer, stated: "The supernatural is the natural not yet understood".

Why do you research the paranormal?

For thousands of years, millions of people have experienced events they cannot explain. Most attribute their experiences to a paranormal event or spiritual event. For some, faith or fear is all that is needed to fully convince them of the existence of ghosts and spirits. But for others, especially the open but skeptical, the drive exists to search for explanations. When you are able to successfully rule out natural phenomena, what is left? What could cause events that are outside of our understanding? Is that not the goal of science? To understand things we do not currently understand is the goal of every scientific endeavor. We may never reach that goal but that doesn't mean the pursuit is in vain.

So do you guys consider yourselves experts in the field?

There are no experts in the field. Anyone who claims to be an expert is a fraud. Even the legendary John Zaffis will quickly tell you he is no expert. There is no point in researching something if the work is finished and you can just ask an expert. Theories and hypotheses abound but there are few concrete facts. Anyone who has put decades of work into paranormal research will tell you there is infinitely more that we do not yet understand than what we do understand. So, the research continues.

What do you consider evidence?

Check out our Theories page as well as our Audio and Visual pages. Evidence is a rare thing and even more rarely does it stand up to close-minded skeptical review. As long as there are doubters and skeptics that are completely closed to the possibility, no amount of evidence will be enough. The best we can hope for as researchers is to capture something that opens the minds of those doubters and skeptics. The reality is that some people will only believe in the paranormal if a ghost walks up to their face, says "Hi!", then vanishes. Even then, some would still not believe it.

What do you do on an investigation?

That depends on the location, environment, and countless other variables. We follow several protocols for investigating. Check out the Methods page for more information.

Would Sci-Tech Paranormal mind checking out some activity I've been experiencing?

We'd be happy to look into it. Feel free to contact us any time by going to the Contact Us page. We have a preliminary process we use to screen potential clients. We will never charge a fee for an investigation because we consider it a privilege to be allowed access to areas which may help others try to understand their experiences and to further our research. If you would like our help, contact us and we will go from there.
