Sci-Tech Paranormal was founded in October 2008 by two husband and wife teams, Ron & Jill Gregory and Kat & Mike Miccoli. Both teams were members of several previous groups. Mike and Kat met Ron and immediately realized they held similar views, styles and methodologies in regards to paranormal research.

The goal of the group is to conduct paranormal research that follows scientific methods and techniques. This goal guides the group to provide a service, free of charge, that helps people better understand the events that are occurring to them or their property.

Sci-Tech Paranormal believes that identification and isolation of known natural sources is the key to finding credible evidence. While we do follow and acknowledge personal experiences and intuition, we do not have psychics or clairvoyants on our team. We feel that evidence should be something that can be shown to a skeptic or, preferably, placed in his or her hand. Feelings or impressions may help convey the message but they are not in and of themselves, evidence.

We have are focused on scientific investigative techniques, however, we do acknowledge the value of using various non-traditional methods during investigations. No one in the group claims to be psychic. We also do not use dousing rods or Ouija boards. However, given that infinitely more is unknown than known in this field, we have to remain open to ideas and possibilities. We will attempt to eliminate all natural explanations before concluding that an event is paranormal. We are not a "debunk and dash" type of team. That means we will not conduct a single investigation with the purpose of debunking a client's claims then leave them with more questions than answers.

Following logic and a collective wealth of scientific knowledge covering many fields, we seek natural causes for events. By eliminating all possible natural causes, we can then focus on the paranormal activity that might be present. Our investigations are conducted with all possible control and knowledge of the investigation location. We eliminate as many natural causes as possible and isolate the area from possible evidence contaminants such as noise, uncontrolled light sources, pets, drafts, dust, and many other things.

The idea behind such control is to avoid adding to the numerous points that skeptics use to discredit paranormal research. A great deal of "evidence" is presented in this field that is wide open to skeptical attacks (and rightly so). Closed minded skeptics will never be convinced. Our aim is not to prove that ghosts exist. Our aim is to uncover evidence that supports the occurrence. We are also very knowledgeable in the theories and beliefs of various cultures as they relate to paranormal activity.

We are often asked if we believe in ghosts. Our range of our beliefs may vary but one thing remains true for all of us: we all believe in the possibility.

Carl Sagan put it best when he said, "Absence of proof is not proof of absence". And like Carl, we seek to uncover the mysteries of the unexplained. The pursuit is not in vain just as Colombus' pursuit of a route to India was not in vain. We may not know exactly where our endeavors will take us, but they will take us some place. Only time and evidence will reveal where and why. After all, isn't seeking the 'why' of things the purpose of curiosity?
